North Barito – Project MCIP’s Nawakara Emergency Response Team (ERT), together with the management of PT Telen Orbit Prima (TOP), planted Mahogany tree seedlings in the area of the MCIP Project in Central Kalimantan, Paring Lahung Village, Montallat District, North Barito Regency, Central Kalimantan, Thursday (22/4).
“This tree seed planting activity is part of events to commemorate the 2021 National K3 month and coincide with Earth Day. The goal is to awaken and grow our sense of concern for protecting and preserving nature,” said Akbar Bayu as TOP-MCIP ERT Nawakara Leader.
This activity, which involved the Nawakara ERT Team, is an actual act that can reduce global warming, increase the absorption of CO2 and other pollutants.
“The hope is that we all become more aware of the importance of tree planting because it greatly affects air pollution control, animal protection, flood prevention, and others,” said Akbar.
PT TOP’s Head of Mining Engineering, Haris Patriawan, appreciated the participation of Nawakara ERT.
“Hopefully, this activity can increase our awareness of planting and maintaining plants as part of the attitude or national culture (mindset) that is inherent in everyday life,” said Haris.
