Jakarta – National Education Day is a very important moment to remind us of the significance of education for Indonesian children. In commemoration of National Education Day 2024, to ignite the spirit in this National Education Month, PT Nawakara Perkasa Nusantara donated Children’s Books to the Mizan Amanah Cipete Orphanage for Orphans & the Needy, located in Cilandak, South Jakarta, on Thursday, May 30, 2024.
Edy Gustian, the Head of the Human Capital Division, stated that the book donation was carried out throughout May within Nawakara’s work environment. “All Nawakara employees have participated in the children’s book donation drive for these children. These books are expected to benefit underprivileged children, especially those at the Mizan Amanah Cipete Orphanage for Orphans & the Needy,” said Edy.
During the two-week donation collection process, 82 children’s books were gathered, which are educational, entertaining, and age-appropriate. The books varied from fairy tales and activity books to children’s dictionaries. The donated books are hoped to benefit the intellectual and creative development of the children at the orphanage.
“This activity is a tangible example of how Nawakara employees can make a positive impact on children in need. By sharing books and knowledge with the orphanage children, employees help them to have better opportunities to broaden their horizons,” Edy remarked.
It is hoped that this children’s book donation in commemoration of National Education Day will inspire all of us to continue caring and contributing to the education of children in Indonesia. Never feel that the small donations we make are insignificant because, for those who receive them, they are very precious gifts.
