Surabaya – The commitment to integrity and the protection of company assets was once again demonstrated by security personnel assigned to the operational area of PT Nawakara Perkasa Nusantara. On Wednesday, January 28, 2026, at approximately 16:50 WIB, a security officer successfully thwarted an attempted theft of cigarette products in the production area of British American Tobacco (BAT) Surabaya.
The incident occurred during a routine inspection at Turnstile No. 3, when a security officer, Ridwan Amil Dwi Saputra, conducted a body check on an employee exiting the production area. During the inspection, the officer discovered one pack of Lucky Strike Red cigarettes hidden inside the underwear of an employee identified as M. Khakam Khakim.
Based on the initial investigation, the cigarettes were taken from Module Machine 47 in the production area. In an attempt to avoid detection, the product had been wrapped in tissue before being concealed inside the employee’s clothing. However, the act was detected during the standard security body check conducted in accordance with established procedures.
Following the discovery, the security officer immediately secured the evidence and escorted the individual to the Security Amenity area for further examination. The case was subsequently reported and followed up at the BAT SOC Lobby, involving the company’s internal security team.
Several parties were involved in handling and clarifying the incident, including security officer Ridwan Amil Dwi Saputra, Adi Susilo from the security team of PT Nawakara Perkasa Nusantara, and Rokhim from the BAT security team.
The General Manager of the Surabaya Regional Office, Kosim, expressed appreciation for the vigilance and professionalism demonstrated by the security personnel in carrying out their duties.
“This incident highlights the importance of discipline in implementing security procedures as well as the integrity of every personnel in the field. We appreciate the swift action and thoroughness of the officer who successfully detected the attempted violation. This also proves that the security system implemented in collaboration with our client is effective in safeguarding company assets,” said Kosim.
