Enhancing Collaboration: PLN and Nawakara Conduct Riot Control and Bomb Disposal Simulation to Strengthen National Electricity Security

Bekasi – PLN UPT Pulogadung, in collaboration with PT Nawakara Perkasa Nusantara, conducted a Riot Control and Bomb Disposal Simulation as a strategic effort to strengthen preparedness in safeguarding national electricity operations. The activity, held within the National Vital Object (Obvitnas) area, received full support from the Bekasi Metro Police and the Gegana Bomb Squad of Brimob Kelapa Dua on Tuesday, 30 September 2025.

As a unit responsible for supplying electricity to strategic regions, PLN UPT Pulogadung places strong emphasis on anticipating potential threats that may disrupt the stability of the electrical system. Through this simulation, all security personnel were trained to be responsive, disciplined, and capable of coordinating across agencies in emergency situations.

Simulation Highlights: From Mass Riot Scenario to Bomb Threat Handling

The exercise began with a mass protest scenario at the entrance of PLN UPT Pulogadung. The security team quickly initiated initial control measures and reported the situation to management. The escalation prompted assistance from the Bekasi Metro Police Dalmas Unit, which deployed personnel equipped with barricades and water cannons to disperse the riot.

The tension heightened when a suspicious object resembling an explosive device was discovered. Security personnel immediately secured the area and coordinated with the Gegana Bomb Squad. Standard procedures were carried out, including X-ray inspection, area sterilization, and bomb disposal. Once the threat was neutralized, the session concluded with a joint evaluation assembly.

PLN Reinforces Its Security Commitment

Manager of PLN UPT Pulogadung, Rizal Pahlevi, emphasized that the simulation is part of PLN’s ongoing commitment to strengthening security measures.

“This activity is part of our routine agenda as a commitment to maintaining security and preparedness. Since our area is classified as a National Vital Object, all personnel must be ready to respond to any situation that may change rapidly. Through this simulation, we hope PLN UPT Pulogadung becomes more resilient and capable of ensuring reliable electricity supply for both the public and industry,” said Rizal.

As PLN’s official security partner, PT Nawakara Perkasa Nusantara played an active role throughout the simulation, from riot control to technical support in bomb threat handling.

“Today we held an emergency simulation together with PLN, focusing on riot control and bomb threat response. This activity represents strong collaboration between PLN and Nawakara, supported by the Bekasi Metro Police and the Gegana Bomb Squad. This synergy is essential to ensure all parties are prepared to face potential threats and maintain operational security within National Vital Object environments,” said Rusdi, Training Operation Department Head of Nawakara.

Strengthening Preparedness and Multi-Agency Coordination

The simulation concluded with an evaluation assembly highlighting the importance of vigilance, discipline, and adherence to security procedures. The training successfully enhanced the skills of security personnel, strengthened multi-agency coordination, and provided a realistic understanding of emergency response protocols.

Beyond improving readiness, the activity also served as a collective learning platform for all participants. The collaboration is expected to further reinforce PLN and its strategic partners in safeguarding the electricity supply, a vital necessity for communities and industries.
